Aer Temp are now hiring for a experienced Senior Bartender for a busy Pub/Restaurant in the City Centre.
Reports to: Bar Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
Job Purpose:
To oversee the daily operations of the bar, ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality beverage preparation, compliance with health and safety standards, and smooth team coordination. The Senior Barman acts as a role model for junior staff, assists in training, and supports management in delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the bar team during shifts, ensuring smooth service and staff efficiency.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
Train, mentor, and support junior bar staff in cocktail making, service techniques, and customer engagement.
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and conduct regular inventory checks.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the bar area.
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and company policies.
Handle customer complaints professionally, escalating when necessary.
Assist in creating new cocktail menus and promotions to drive sales.
Monitor cash handling and ensure accurate till procedures.
Provide excellent product knowledge to upsell beverages and enhance guest experience.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
High attention to detail and presentation standards.
Ability to work under pressure and handle busy service periods.
Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Customer-focused with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience as a bartender, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
Formal bar training, mixology certification, or WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) qualification preferred.
Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
First aid and food safety certification is a plus.
